PERU

"The Racetrack," Death Valley National Park, California.

An ancient lake bed is dotted with stones that
mysteriously "move" leaving tracks in the earth.
The Nazca earth drawings in Peru are similarly
continuous pathways carved into the land.

A large outcropping of rock sits at the north
end of The Racetrack. Machupicchu was built
across from a large rocky peack called Pachamama.
Small scale models of this mountain can be found
at Machupicchu. Perhaps the Incas understood the
usefulness of the miniature and the mirror.
